Grad®, leader in
wooden exterior applications
It was in 1988, in the village of Niedermodern in Alsace, that Grad® was born under the name Architecture du Bois. Having been founded by Wilfried Andres, the company specialised in wooden exterior applications from the very start.
It became a pioneer in the field of wooden decking and eventually became a leading player of this sector in France. In 2012, Architecture du Bois changed its name to Grad®, in honour of the founder’s mother. This new, concise and regional name symbolises the family values of the company, i.e. commitment,
solidarity and long-term viability.
Thanks to its unique know-how, Grad® has earned itself a reputation for excellence, notably by securing 6 patents and 3 gold medals over the years:
– Lépine competition, Strasbourg 2007
– Inventors competition, Geneva 2008
– Lépine competition, Paris 2008
In 2016, the company was purchased by the family group, Burger & Cie, and expanded in 2019 by relocating to the Lièpvre site. Grad® then became a brand of the group in its own right and continues to build its brand awareness. In 2021, Grad® opened its first subsidiary in Germany in Offenburg, followed the same year by a subsidiary in the United States, and finally in 2022 in Great Britain. Today, the brand has a network of nearly 500 partners that are trained internationally to fit the products on various construction sites.
With offices in many countries, its development is expanding with many partners who trust the quality of the Grad® products and services.

New ambitions
New ambitions
Today, the brand is turning a new chapter and thinking big.
With the construction of a new building to house the production as well as the offices, Grad® is investing in order to realise its ambitions. Having started work in 2022, the building should be operational by the 1st quarter of 2024.
There will be no less than 6,500 m2 of workshop space and 1,720 m2 of offices that
Grad® will have at its disposal to achieve its new objectives.
For more than 30 years, the Grad® team has been perfecting the invisible
fixing with its clip. Thanks to its innovative mindset, its vision of a sustainable product and the experience acquired with its customers, Grad® continues to develop its smart, versatile and easy-to-use system.
Thanks to the inventiveness, aesthetics and durability of the product, Grad® has made a name for itself over the years as an excellent product, that is equally interesting to end users as it is to landscapers and architects.
Thanks to its solid foundations and dedicated teams, Grad® is exporting throughout the world, winning over and convincing new users.
