Accoya Color Grey: the silver patina of wood, without waiting.
Mass-dyed from the surface to the core, Accoya Color Grey offers a homogeneous, contemporary, and unalterable grey shade from installation — all the performance of Accoya, with an aesthetic assumed from day one.
The elegance of timeless grey
- Dyed to the core: The grey shade is not a surface finish — it penetrates the wood throughout its thickness thanks to an advanced and non-toxic impregnation process. Even when cut, profiled, or machined on site, the board remains grey. No risk of flaking, no light areas to conceal.
- Homogeneous grey from installation: Where natural Accoya grays unevenly over time depending on exposure, Accoya Color Grey offers a perfectly homogeneous silver shade from installation — without a transition phase, without waiting, without surprises.
- All the performance of Accoya: Same base, same acetylation process: Accoya Color Grey retains all the mechanical and dimensional properties of Accoya — exceptional stability, rot resistance, without harmful chemicals.
- Virtually no maintenance: The color does not wear off, flake, or require any finishing re-treatment. Seasonal cleaning is enough to maintain the appearance of the facade — a considerable saving of time and money over time.
- Cradle to Cradle Gold, FSC and PEFC certified: Like natural Accoya, Color Grey is non-toxic, 100% recyclable and Cradle to Cradle Gold certified. The pigment used is organic and has been validated as free of harmful substances by the Danish Technological Institute.
Wood aging
Accoya Color Grey does not follow the usual wood cycle — no warm initial shade, no transition, no waiting. Whether for a facade or a deck, the wood is grey upon installation and remains grey over time. This is precisely its proposition: a controlled, stable aesthetic that does not depend on seasons or orientation.
Over time and with UV exposure, the board will very gradually evolve towards a slightly lighter natural grey — a gentle and homogeneous aging, without visual disruption and without impact on the material’s performance, whether for a vertical facade or flooring.
Routine maintenance
Seasonal cleaning with water and a soft brush is sufficient to maintain the appearance of the facade or deck. No finish, no saturator, no re-treatment is necessary to preserve the wood’s shade or durability.
In case of dirt
A solution of warm water and white vinegar applied with a soft brush is sufficient to treat any mold in damp areas — without cleaners with a pH greater than 9, which are incompatible with acetylated wood.
No deep maintenance required
Unlike all other natural or thermally treated woods, Accoya Color Grey does not require any application of oil, stain, or saturator to preserve its technical properties — its durability is acquired through acetylation, not surface treatment.
